This year’s holiday shopping season is shaping up to be fertile ground for augmented reality to show its worth, as both Walmart and Target have crafted immersive experiences designed to engage shoppers in the coming weeks.
ICYMI Walmart is planning to transform twelve of its locations into reimagined “Town Centers” to become places where people will want to come to experience entertainment, dine, workout and engage in other community activities.
HT @OverDriveLibs Imagine you were on Shark Tank and you could promise to get your product on shelves and in catalogs at 16,000 high-traffic locations in the U.S., train a national network of product experts to recommend and showcase your product, add it to thousands of online catalogs, and offer programs to train children to appreciate and love it? This is what libraries do! There is a new Panorama Project focused on researching and analyzing the impact of library holdings and activities on retail sales.
ICYMI: While the 160 million non-library card holders in the U.S. may have access to a physical library, many are too time-poor to visit. Enter the digital content distributor Overdrive’s Instant Digital Card program, which has registered nearly 65,000 new users in the last 15 months. Via @Forbes

From there we provide legal assistance, medical care, housing, groceries, and other kinds of ongoing support. 100 percent of the funds raised by Immigrant Families Together go directly and immediately to the families we serve.
